Course Overview
Lesson 1: Identify Your Goals
The course kicks-off with a lesson and exercise to help you set goals across 3 areas; job goals, career goals, and lifestyle goals. Having concrete goals will help you focus during the job search process and ensure you land a job that provides more than just a paycheck.
Lesson 2: Identify Your Purpose
Many people have a mission or purpose in life. But how many connect that purpose to the jobs they hold and work they do? In this lesson, you will develop a greater sense of purpose and connect it to the job search process. After all, people who feel purpose through their jobs will be happier, more engaged, and enjoy greater success.
Lesson 3: Network for Career Success
70% of jobs are never posted. Networking is critical to access those 70% and not just the jobs posted on job boards. This lesson will teach you the value of networking as well as tactics to expand your network and connect in an authentic and valuable manner. Networking is a skill that will help you find a new job and enable long-term career success.
Lesson 4: Land Informational Interviews
Informational Interviews are one of the most effective tools to land a job. They allow you to collect insight about the company, learn about the culture, gauge personal fit, and confirm it connects to your purpose. Most important, they provide an “in” to gain introductions to gatekeepers and hiring managers. This lesson focuses on how to prepare for, conduct, and follow-up with informational interviews.
Lesson 5: Develop Your Learning Map
Successfully landing a new job often requires you to learn new skills, acquire additional knowledge, and develop new leadership traits. This lesson will help you uncover gaps and assist in defining actions to close each of the gaps via the creation of a Learning Map. Developing a learning map is crucial to landing a new job and also can assist in long-term career success to ensure you are constantly learning and growing.
Lesson 6: Tell Your Career Story
With all the uncertainties that come with the job search process, one thing is almost always certain. You will get some form of the interview question, “Tell me about yourself.” This lesson will help you tell your story in an engaging and comprehensive way that will help you control the interview and stand-out from other applicants.
Lesson 7: Make a Standout Resume and LinkedIn Profile
Building the right resume and creating a LinkedIn profile that stands out from the pack is crucial to landing your next job. While the process of building a resume is incredibly subjective, this lesson will provide you with a series of practical tips and strategies based on Group Sixty’s experience and research that you can use to create a standout resume and LinkedIn profile.
Lesson 8: Develop Executive Presence
Executive Presence is an oft overlooked skill needed not just to land a job, but to create long-term career success. This lesson introduces the data around what Executive Presence is and provides a series of exercises to evaluate and boost your Executive Presence. Building Executive Presence will pay off during the interview process and help you stand apart from less polished candidates. It will also fuel your medium and long-term career success.
Lesson 9: Ace the Interview
At the end of the day, the interview is what will make or break your ability to land a new job. This lesson provides practical tips for preparing for interviews and also a series of interactive exercises to practice your interviewing skills and evaluate your performance.
Bonus: Daily Interview Questions
In addition to the 9 lessons and action planner, you will also receive a daily interview question throughout the course to help you ace the interview process. The questions come from Group Sixty’s experience as well as our clients and will ensure you are ready for a range of challenging questions.

“Using the Group Sixty career course encouraged me to identify and align with my values to determine what specifically I wanted to do within the financial services industry. The values exercise in the action planner helped me better understand my career and lifestyle goals and how my values of achievement and genuineness can work in tandem to drive future decisions. Once I was clear on my values, I was able to use the learning map to identify the skillsets I needed to further develop.
